JB Glossinger [00:00:06]:
Good planning. And welcome to Morning Coach Today. I am so glad you're with us. Hey. It's JB. Super pumped you're here. Happy 22nd. We're ready to take it on.
JB Glossinger [00:00:24]:
It's episode 5309. So excited you're with me. It's a Monday as always, and it it's the 22nd. You know, you gotta love the 22nd for those of you that knew with me, 22 is my lucky number. 22 is going to be a great day. The 22nd's gonna be a great day. And it's always awesome to start your day off with some great energy, right, saying it's gonna be a great day. And that's what we're doing here as we get started.
JB Glossinger [00:00:49]:
Obviously, remember, we start our days with a metaphysical morning ritual. Taking some time for self care, can't tell you how important that is. Listen to the daily coach cast. Get that energy to get your day. Plan your day with the 7 p's. Changes everything. Right? Have that right perspective. Set the daily priorities.
JB Glossinger [00:01:06]:
Focus on improved performance. Always have patience. Keep great posture. Stay present and persist. And for those of you that are organizing with our planner, take time to spend a little bit of time with your planning. Get that day set up. Take a picture and send that in to the morning coach companion so you can get some feedback from that. Always working to make that better.
JB Glossinger [00:01:24]:
And, of course, you could stop by the community for accountability questions and support. As always, what a great time to be alive. I'm glad you're with us. Glad you're spending some time today. Total respect for that. I know, I know, you know, it's your life, and your time to me is the most valuable thing. It's more valuable than money. We can make more money.
JB Glossinger [00:01:42]:
And when you're spending time with me, that is that is something we can't make up. So I wanna be the best I can for you, give you some great energy, and keep you going. By the way, I got a meet up tomorrow, 11 AM Eastern Standard Time, trying this out. We're working a little bit on trying to get a little bit earlier one. We'll see how it goes, as we get into this. I was talking to Haley the other day, and she was talking about some other big groups that are, you know, 3, 4 100 life. And it's, you know, a challenge sometimes to get everybody together, but we're trying different times. We're gonna talk about metaphysics and manifestation tomorrow.
JB Glossinger [00:02:13]:
It's gonna be a good one. So if you get a chance to meet up with me at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time, that is the community, over at Planning Coach. This week, we got a huge week planned, as we get into our episodes this week. Today, we're gonna talk about creating instead of surviving, an issue with instantaneous gratification. K? This is a big one. I think you're gonna love it. We're gonna carry that through the week because I really feel it's gonna help you. I'm gonna talk about some of the things that haven't worked for me and some of the things that have, and some of my clients as we've coached over the years.
JB Glossinger [00:02:43]:
Tomorrow, we've got a book study, e squared, experiment 6 and 7. We're working through that book, which is just Pam Grout's amazing writing style and fun style fellow life fellow Hay House author. I I I love the writing style. We're having fun with that. Wednesday, this one you don't wanna meet miss, manifesting principles of consumption, taking your power away. What what is taking your power away? We're gonna hit on that a little bit today, but get in-depth on Wednesday. Thursday, we gotta ask JB, how can I eliminate scope creep? And I'm gonna talk a little bit about our marketing issues and how I had so much scope creep and so many things going on. What is scope creep, you might be I mean, you might ask.
JB Glossinger [00:03:19]:
That's kind of an engineering term, that when you start, you start doing a couple tasks and then it turns into 30 tasks. I think it happens to all of us sometimes. Right? You start working. It's like I got these 2 things to do, and those 2 things lead to 30. You feel overwhelmed. You feel burnout. We're gonna talk about the Thursday. We're gonna address that.
JB Glossinger [00:03:36]:
Friday, we're gonna talk about cash flow creation and solving problems. How do you get more cash flow in, if you need that, and and what are some things you can do as far as solving problems to address cash flow? Of course, Saturday is doctor Paul. Loving doctor Paul, having some fun with, his ideas and thoughts and bring us that great energy. And then Sunday, we've got life moments and anchoring them, a deep day. As always, if you had a chance to do your weekend review on Sunday, fantastic. If not, great time to do it. You can find that in the planner. And those of you doing, you know, your your SOPs with us, cleaning off that desktop, making sure that's good.
JB Glossinger [00:04:13]:
If you did it Sunday, great. If you didn't today, you know, whatever your second brain is, how you're using those SOPs to get yourself organized, we're ready to go. As always, I will mention we are in a due month. I've been doing some changes up to my plan. I shouldn't say that, but I am. You know, we're coming out of the Q1 into today. Tomorrow or next month, we're gonna do a little bit more in our check month, but it is a due month. We should be working on our plan, not making too many radical changes, maybe a few here and there, but sticking with the plan.
JB Glossinger [00:04:41]:
If you're brand new with me, listen to Coaching cast, keep to the basics. And as I always say, we got people here 19 years. I love you guys. Been with me for a long time. You know, we've got black belts in our system. These are, you know, been with us a long time. Don't get overwhelmed by everything we do because there is a lot here, but that's because we have people doing a lot of things. Alright? So let's talk a little bit about this idea of instantaneous gratification and the issues of it when it comes to creating instead of surviving.
JB Glossinger [00:05:11]:
So one of the things that happens is when we are looking to really get on point and focused, and again, I love the metaphysical side of things. I love to go in a gray area, and I love the practical area. Both work. You know, if you're a left brain person, very analytical, very cost structure, and you're like, hey. I'm not into that gray area. That's fine because this all this works in both areas. It can work for you energetically, and it can work for you strategically and systematically. And the idea is that when you look at your life and what you're doing, okay, when we get instantaneous gratification in our life, we lose power because we've got this focus on things we're going to do.
JB Glossinger [00:05:48]:
We've worked on our mission. We know that strategic mission that we've talked about. We've analyzed that. For those of you who wanna get a little bit more, you know, I've got a written a book on that, mission driven. It's in your library. You can actually download the book and get more on mission, spent a lot of time on that. We really dialed it in this year. And having a strategic mission is, okay, this is what we're focused on.
JB Glossinger [00:06:10]:
This is what we're going to do. And if you're following our planning, and again, if you're new, don't worry. But if you've worked with us in December and you're on your plan, you should be executing towards that mission. K? Next month, we're gonna take a check and look at it and say, okay, what changes need to be made? And we'll make changes accordingly to get back on mission. And we may even change the mission a little bit. It's depending where you're at. You know, we're getting into almost I mean, it's amazing, right? We're getting into May. You've had a few months here to kind of feel, are we on track on that 12 month Motivation? And the example is if we're going to the moon, okay, and we got the rocket ship and we're going that direction, have we been side sidetracked, or are we still on on path to the moon, which is our 12 months you know, what we want our life to look like in 12 months? And that's our strategic mission that we're working on.
JB Glossinger [00:06:56]:
But what happens in life is we have a lot of instantaneous gratification activities. So as we're going through life and we're on this mission, all of a sudden we feel like we need to do something for that instantaneous gratification. What could that be? It could be honeybun, right? Something sugary, something not nutritious that you're like, oh, man, I can't wait to have that honeybun. And listen, I'm gonna tell you, this is not just about taking a break once in a while because we need to do that. This is about staying on task and on track. Another one of those is alcohol. You know, I've talked about my issues with alcohol. When I drink, I tend to drink too much.
JB Glossinger [00:07:31]:
It's instantaneous gratification. Why you drink? You feel good. You're with your friends. Oh, this is great. And believe me, I've been with lot of people saying, oh, Jamie, it's okay to have a few drinks, and there are people that can. Juergen hey, Juergen's great. You know, he's he's over there, and he was toasting Vitus' 100 plus days that he's, you know, has hasn't been planning, and I'm working on mine on drinking. But but alcohol can be an instantaneous gratification for some of us.
JB Glossinger [00:07:55]:
For some people, it's it is kind of a release, and that's okay, but it can be. Porno is another one. For some people, it's an instantaneous gratification. They're getting that dopamine release planning at porno, which is everywhere now. Funny to be talking about that in the morning. Right? But it is one of those instant instantaneous gratification things. And there's many things that we we take instantaneous gratification from. Could be TV, like a series, like binge watching Netflix.
JB Glossinger [00:08:20]:
That's instantaneous gratification. I gotta watch the next series. I gotta watch the next one. Gaming is another one. A lot of kids are having issues, right? TikTok, videos, short form content is instantaneous gratification. Those things, okay, take your power. They take your power. We're gonna get big in this Wednesday, but it's really important that the consumption of things that you're doing, if you're not monitoring this, if you're not aware of it, they will take your power.
JB Glossinger [00:08:49]:
Now when it comes to manifesting things, you're bringing things into your life, you're working towards a specific goal, a specific mission, right? We're going towards that direction. You're feeling it. You're feeling like you're getting there. You're starting to dial in the focus, and then all of a sudden you sidetrack. Okay, and some obviously instantaneous gratification things are bigger than others. I know my personality. It's why I stay away from online gaming. If I start online gaming, it'll take me down a path that I don't wanna go.
JB Glossinger [00:09:16]:
I have enough trouble when I get with my buddies and we play Dungeons and Dragons. They stay up all night, and I can't do it anymore. And they load up on sugary food and Doritos just like we were teenagers. And I get it. I wanna feel like a teenager, but I don't wanna do that all the life. And it sidetracks me from my big mission and the life changes I wanna make. As I always say, if your life is perfect and you are doing fantastic, then all the things I talk about, hey, just keep doing what you're doing. But if you are not where you're at, or if you wanna live your best life, or you wanna take it to the next level, then we've got to make changes in the things we're doing.
JB Glossinger [00:09:51]:
And one of those is understanding instantaneous gratification. So as I mentioned, there is this idea of enjoyment in life and relaxation. Again, if your life is going fantastic, I'm totally cool. Go take a break. And I think we need to work breaks into things we're doing. But if you're on a mission and you're really going after it, then you're gonna work. You're gonna go after it. You're gonna do it.
JB Glossinger [00:10:14]:
You're gonna make it happen. Right? 52 weeks in a year. Think about this. Alex Formosi was saying this the other day, and I really appreciate it. If you are really on task and on mission, there's a 104 weekend days. Where I grew up, the weekends are off. I think it's a mentality. Right? It's a mentality that was given to me because my parents were factory workers.
JB Glossinger [00:10:32]:
You work Monday through Friday, Saturday, Sunday, are those days for you. But I don't operate with in that framework. I'm an ILD guy. I wanna do what I want when I want. I wanna go golf on Monday. I wanna go golf on Tuesday. I wanna go golf on Wednesday. In fact, I like to golf Monday through Friday because if I golf Saturday and Sunday it's a 5 and a half hour round.
JB Glossinger [00:10:51]:
Round, but I can go on Monday in 3 and a half hours. I like to do the opposite of what everybody else is doing because it gives me lifestyle. See, to me it's lifestyle. I like to break the rules. The rules were there to be broken, right? So it's like, well, you can't work weekends. Well, why can't you? It's literally a 100 and 4 days. If you're on a mission to do coaching, like I'm really challenging myself, you'll see on YouTube and a couple things I'm doing, that means I need to work Saturdays, Sundays. It doesn't mean I have to work all day Saturdays Sundays, but it gives me 104 days over everybody else.
JB Glossinger [00:11:22]:
Right? Everybody else is saying, oh, I gotta take my break. Well, maybe I'll take my break on Monday for 4 hours. Maybe I'll work in the morning. See, I love flexibility. I love freedom. And I know you could be saying, JB, but I got a job, and I can't do that. I gotta go to work. I get it, but what do you want your life to look like in 12 months? As Zig Ziglar, one of my mentors, always said, we don't pay the price.
JB Glossinger [00:11:45]:
We enjoy the price. You know, what are you willing to do in order to really make that happen? I'm working on, and it's on my arm right now, a 2055 5 ks 4th July. It's a big goal for me. Right now I'm planning, it's a 6 minute 6 minute 40 second 44 second, minute 5 k. Right now I'm running at about 8 minutes. That means I still gotta shave 2 minutes off this sucker to hit this goal. It's a lot at my age, okay? I'm not a runner. I'm more of a lifter, and I train with SIR.
JB Glossinger [00:12:15]:
I'm not that person that's out there running marathons. I just haven't, but this is a goal. So in order to enjoy that price, I gotta work every day. And it's not only just running, it's also taking care of my body and eating right and not getting distracted with the instantaneous gratification. So on July 4th, when I go to run that race, hopefully you have it at the weather permitting, right, and I go out there and I run that and give my best effort, in order to do that, I've gotta watch these instantaneous gratifications because they steal your power. And not only they steal your power, but they steal your ability to manifest. And that's what's really big. You know, we've been talking a lot on Morning Coaching about manifesting.
JB Glossinger [00:12:53]:
I know it got really big with The Secret years ago back when I started Morning Coach. Right after I started, Rhonda Byrne came out with that video. Went big, The Secret. And the problem I have with that is because, not that I had a problem, it woke people up, but it caused people to believe that if you just think about things, things are gonna manifest in your life. There's no work to it. And that's a fallacy. There's work You can't be doing these things that pull you off because you're not able to hold the thought long enough in order to bring it through. In fact, if you think about law of attraction, the last word's action.
JB Glossinger [00:13:30]:
So there's work that needs to be done, right? So your focus is so critical. And that's when we gotta step back and look at rituals and principles, okay? Because when we look at the things we're doing and why I talk about the metaphysical morning ritual, when I'm on, I'm on. When I drink alcohol or I drink too much sugar, I don't get a good enough sleep, right, or I binge watch Netflix or I stay up all night and play Dungeons and Dragons, it takes me off my path. Now, again, once in a while that's okay. I'm okay with that. I'll wash, rinse, repeat. I'll start over and get back at it. Where I have an issue is when it's consistently being done and you're not aware.
JB Glossinger [00:14:06]:
Remember, emotional intelligence is what we're talking about, and that's really what we're doing here. EQ has proven literally 1,000 of dollars more you will make in your life if you have a high emotional intelligence. And the good thing about emotional intelligence versus IQ is you can gain it. You can learn by listening to Morning Coach, by coming here and doing these basic things life listening, getting up, being aware of what's happening, having the right perspective, and changing your priorities. That's the key. And then having discipline and structure. And when you do that, all of a sudden, you can start to manifest. And if you're like, woah, I'm not into that manifesting Coaching, well, you're gonna hit your goals.
JB Glossinger [00:14:45]:
You're gonna get to where you are. This is what most people just are not aware of. They're not having these conversations. They're not even discussing it. Heck, they're not even sitting down and saying, what do I wanna look like in 12 months? What do I wanna do? What are the changes I wanna make? How do I wanna live my life? Sure are a lot of complainers out there though, right? But that's not you. You're listening to this. And that's why I've built these systems. So every day we're building your EQ, Literally building your revenue in yourself because you're growing your awareness.
JB Glossinger [00:15:15]:
You're learning things that not everybody else is talking about. I mean, nobody's having an issue on I don't know anybody that's sitting around talking about instantaneous gratification and how we gotta be careful of how it's pulling our power away. Why? Because people don't want you to have power. You know, there's an old adage that people want you to be successful, just not more successful than them. Our community is the opposite of that, but there's a lot of truth to that in the world today. And so I want you to raise up from that. I want you to rise up. Okay? Rise up from that energy and start to understand you and what you want your life to look like.
JB Glossinger [00:15:50]:
And realize that if we're not getting there, then we've gotta look at the things that you're taking instantaneous gratification from because they're stealing your power. And again, if you're using some of them for enjoyment and relaxation once in a while, hey, I love it. If your life's going great, fantastic. But if you wanna live your best life and you wanna manifest amazing things in your life, then we gotta take a deep, hard look at what you're getting your instantaneous gratification in, and make sure that it's not stealing your power. And I'm gonna tell you it is. If it is, Coaching, okay, I'm gonna give this a short amount of time. I'm gonna do this, but I'm going to make the changes necessary within those things that are creating and taking me away from my mission. And I'm gonna be mission driven.
JB Glossinger [00:16:33]:
I'm gonna make sure that when I achieve, I'm gonna achieve. Just like me working on this goal of 2055. It's on my arm. I'm gonna achieve that. And it's not the goal itself that's that makes a big difference. It's all the work that I'm doing. Because even if I don't hit it in July, you know how much better shape I'm gonna be in by setting that goal? Hey. I'm a monster.
JB Glossinger [00:16:53]:
I'm already starting to get and feel better and have more energy. Everything in my life is getting better. Not drinking. I'm focused in on 2,055. That's the key. You know? And and and being mission driven back to Zig, and we'll end on this. Right? Like, everybody says, oh, you pay the price. You gotta work hard.
JB Glossinger [00:17:10]:
Oh, it's so tough. But like Zig says, and I love it, we don't pay the price. We enjoy the price. I'm gonna enjoy it. I'm enjoying every minute of it. My health's getting better. My life's better. Probably adding years to my life by taking the time to set a goal, to have a mission, and look at the things that pull me away from that are stealing my power.
JB Glossinger [00:17:28]:
I don't know about you, but I want power. I don't want people taking my power. And so look at the things in your life that are taking it and let them go. Okay? I love you. We got a big week planned. It's gonna be awesome. We'll see you over at morning Coaching. You need anything, as always, let's go rock and roll, and let's make it happen.
JB Glossinger [00:17:45]:
Alright. Do it to it. I will see you tomorrow right here. Same bat channel, same bat place at morning coaching.
