JB Glossinger [00:00:08]:
Good morning, and welcome to Morning Coach Today. I am so glad you're with us. Hey, it's JB. Super pumped you're here today as we're rocking and rolling. As always, getting you some great energy to start your day. Excited you're with us as we get into March. We're back into due month. Means you should have your plan going.
JB Glossinger [00:00:32]:
You should be executing. If you have not got your plan in place, just hit that little library and go into the planning section, and you'll be able to work on the site and get that going. Going. Excited. You're with me. We're ready to go. We're obviously here doing our morning ritual, taking some time for self care this morning. You know, figure out what that means to you.
JB Glossinger [00:00:51]:
Make sure you're doing that. Make that a nonnegotiable. Really important. And listen to coach cast. You may be doing your self care right now, which is fantastic. We wanna organize the day with our planner, which is really important to get the planner out, and maybe you're using a whiteboard or planner, whatever you're using. Then we wanna get our seven p's in order, which these are magic. You wanna have the right perspective.
JB Glossinger [00:01:11]:
You wanna set those priorities. Those two are critical every day. We wanna improve our performance. You know that 1% improvement every day. Have patience, keep that posture, get those shoulders back this morning, stay in the moment, stay present. We'll use the p present instead of moment there, and then persist. Alright? We wanna get after it day by day because that's what's gonna get us there. So this week, we got a great week going.
JB Glossinger [00:01:35]:
Obviously, we've moved into the new hub. For those of you brand new, you don't even see that. Older people, on the top of morningcoach.com when you log in, please go to the hub. There's a video there today, with some updates. Every week, we're doing a new video so that way you know what's going on, with the longevity things that we've got going on, the the new hub. We've got a new directory into hubs, so you can go down there and you'll be able to go into different areas for different knowledge, which we're gonna be talking about today. Like I said, we got the longevity planner. So many things are happening, so make sure, we don't wanna spend all day on that here.
JB Glossinger [00:02:10]:
We're gonna do that in a video on the site. So log in hub.morningcoach.com, and watch the video for all the updates, everything that's going on, and check-in, with the community there, as you normally do. This week, we've got a big week. We're talking about knowledge. I just mentioned it. Our theme for the month is learning self understanding, strength and strengths and weaknesses, self control and self esteem. That's all the topics we're gonna be covering this month. Starting this week, with is knowledge power and talking about knowledge, I have two books.
JB Glossinger [00:02:41]:
Yes. It's two books for our book study. Roxanne suggested a book which is great, The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away Quit by Annie Duke. And then we also have a little book, a little book that teaches you when to quit and when to stick, The Dip by Seth Godin. So we've got two books we'll be introducing tomorrow. And again, you don't have to run out and get those books. You can find them up in the Compass. Also in the new hub, we've got an area to discuss.
JB Glossinger [00:03:08]:
We you can just come and listen on Tuesdays, or you can actually get the books and really dive into them if you find that it really interests you. So so we've got the books there. Two of them this month. We're doing two of them. The dip's really small. That's why. We're moving on Wednesday. Wednesday, we've got rapid learning method.
JB Glossinger [00:03:24]:
This is something that I've taught for years. It'll help you learn quickly. So we're gonna go over rapid learning method on Wednesday, give you some tips on that. Also, be doing some videos on that up in the site, so you'll wanna check if that's something that really gets you going. Thursday, we got asked JB, how do I know what skills to add? How do you know what skills to add to that talent that you have? That's going to be genius. That's a good day. You don't want to miss that. Friday, we're gonna talk about financial knowledge, getting that knowledge so you can really build your finances wealth.
JB Glossinger [00:03:54]:
You know that there's a few areas that we really focus on here. Obviously, productivity is a big one, but also wealth and health. Two areas we wanna have you, really solidified in. Saturday, of course, doctor Paul has been rocking it with our longevity antiaging metrics, different ideas on health. And then Sunday, we're gonna talk about learning about time. We're gonna get into time a little bit and talk about slowing it down. It's already Sunday is March 8. Right? So it flies, but we're gonna learn how to slow that down and enjoy it.
JB Glossinger [00:04:22]:
But today, what I'll do is knowledge power, and it is. Knowledge is power, but only when applied. It gives you the ability to make better decisions, to solve problems, adapt to challenges, invest. Right? Invest. However, knowledge alone isn't enough. It must be combined with action and experience to truly be powerful. So one of the big things that I like to talk about is the difference between wisdom and experience. You know, a lot of people have this wonderful wisdom, and a lot of people have experiences.
JB Glossinger [00:04:51]:
And and in life, one of the things that served me is the wisdom of others. I've always been respectful, always a student, sometimes a teacher. And wisdom is such a wonderful thing. And I learned this years ago, maybe from what color your parachute. I'm not sure where I learned it, but this this concept that when you go in for a job interview and they say, well, you don't have experience. Right? And when we were younger, I'm sure you had that know, when I was younger, I know I had that. I would go in and they say, well, you don't have experience, and I would go at some high level things. I never did not get the job that I applied for.
JB Glossinger [00:05:24]:
And the one of the reasons is I believe this answer was always like, hey. I I might not have the experience, but I can get the wisdom from the people that I can train from, which is actually better. I'd rather learn the right ways than come in here with twenty years of experience and have a bunch of bad habits. Huge answer. It always worked. And same thing in life. Like, as we go out to gain knowledge and we go out to to grow and develop things, why not go get the wisdom from others? So as many of my old members know that have been with me for years, you know, we constantly are changing, looking for ways to evolve and get better. And one of those ways is to, you know, go out there and talk to other people.
JB Glossinger [00:06:00]:
Also, putting goals out, having the right mission, having the right vision, and allowing things to work is a big part of that. As we move into this new system, part of the reason that we're bringing all this together, and it's slowly coming together, it's gonna be awesome as we get into the summer, and we continue to put content up and optimize the system is because of Stu McLaren. So Stu, as a friend of mine from years ago, I met him years ago. I mentioned him a couple times. We did his book last month, and I'm borrowing his wisdom. He's been doing this type of business for years. I'm going up to September into his group and meet with them, and I'm borrowing the wisdom that he has. So I don't have to make the same mistakes and the same experiences.
JB Glossinger [00:06:38]:
And not only that, working with a coach, getting his team involved, the way they do things, and slowly getting things where it needs to be, it's it's borrowing from that wisdom. So knowledge is power, but what you can apply and why Morning Coach and Inner Circle and the things that I've put together is to create a brain trust, or I think you're gonna call it a think tank the other day. And, Stacy, when we were talking a little bit about this, and this think tank, the ability to bring wisdom to the table is so important, but you've got to be able to ask for it. See, I've never been not afraid to ask. It's one of the first things I do. Hey. What do you think about this? How does this look? You know? And I go get the wisdom. I don't ask the general population.
JB Glossinger [00:07:20]:
Karen will tell you, I don't want feedback. I hardly ever want feedback. I go to the experts and go, hey, what do you think? Because the experts are there. They've been there. They know that, and that really makes a big difference in your in getting wisdom from people. Right? So we wanna get wisdom. Wisdom is what will carry you through, and it'll help you. And we have the ability to do that.
JB Glossinger [00:07:41]:
We've got Ben has already been in our new community. Unbelievable. You know, we got some brand new people that are really jumping in, James. And you have the ability to connect, and you just have to take that action. And why I'm saying that is don't be fearful. Stop by the community once in a while, especially a new one. It's clean. It's easy to use, and we're working on some aspects of it.
JB Glossinger [00:08:01]:
Ben made some suggestions that were so awesome. But, yeah, just jump in. Right? Use that wisdom, that we can give you. Use my wisdom, wisdom from others so that we can create that energy for you and and that knowledge that you can use, that wisdom instead of experience. So experience, let's just define it. Right? Wisdom is learning from others and not making the mistakes. Experience is just going out there and making the mistakes. Now I get it.
JB Glossinger [00:08:25]:
There's times when you have to experience things like the marathon. My coach told me, doctor Paul told me, doctor Paul also does triathletes in case you don't know, and And they both told me my coach said don't come out of the gate so all the YouTube videos don't come out of the gates fast Okay, dude negative split negative split negative split. What did I do? I came out fast. I didn't listen to the wisdom I had experienced it I had experienced the pain the wall all of that. And now that I have, it's made my training even better. So there are some things you need to experience, but if I would have listened, I wouldn't have had to go through that pain. Right? So wisdom is listening to others and taking that that their experiences and using it. Why experiences is going through the same thing you do.
JB Glossinger [00:09:04]:
And if you have children that are going out for jobs, they're gonna hear that. Specifically, when they go to try to get some high level air high level position, they're gonna hear you don't have experience. And I'm telling you that answer is gold. Worth the price of admission to morning coach to help your children or help somebody else out there that's struggling to kinda get ahead. If they just go, hey. I understand that. I might have the experience, but what I do could what I can have is it wisdom, which is learning from the people that need to teach me, and I'll do it the right way without the bad habits. Write that one down, price of the admission right there.
JB Glossinger [00:09:39]:
That's a huge one that will change somebody's life, especially a young person. All right. So how do we increase knowledge? How do we get smarter? How do we get this? And and this is important to me. You know, I was not a great student until I got into my upper graduate studies, which were just specific. I have, like, ADD, ADHD, whatever you wanna call it. I've never been diagnosed, but my brain goes all over the place. I can't sit still. Right? I can't sit still.
JB Glossinger [00:10:06]:
And so it was really tough for me in school, so I never thought that I was intelligent. You know, even to this day, I'm very humble. I would never say that, but I just never really felt that way. You know what I mean? Because I was moving a million miles an hour. And what has helped me is exactly some of these tips to now I know, hey, I've got knowledge. I've got more knowledge So much know so when I look out there, I'm like, man, you know what? Maybe I do have something going on here. And the reason is, number one, read widely and deeply. Books, articles, and studies in your areas of interest and expertise expand into related fields to develop broader perspectives.
JB Glossinger [00:10:40]:
This has been my blessing is because I have to come here every day and be with you. I have to get better. How do I do that? Book study, the dip, quit. I mean, I have so many books. I continue to read and read and read. I watch documentaries, but I do like to read more. And for me, reading has been such a blessing to me because I always tell you this, that I'm just a messenger. Right? I'm not the message.
JB Glossinger [00:11:02]:
The message is coming from above. The message is coming from the stuff that I've had to read or been forced in my life, and then I just bring it to you. And so we wanna read. You wanna read as much as you can. In the planner, there's a place for you to put, what are you reading today? And I know AI, and I know there's a lot of technical stuff, but you've got to engage your mind. I believe reading is just such an important part of knowledge. Okay? So you wanna read widely and deeply. You wanna engage in active learning.
JB Glossinger [00:11:29]:
This is part two, which is take notes, summarize, and teach others what you learn. This is reinforces your understanding. This is critical. You know, one of my golfers, my pros, you know, that's doing really well, of the things I told him is you need to teach. And when you're coming up 18 and Tiger Woods is behind you or Justin Thomas is behind you, you know, look back and teach me how you're gonna hit the shot. It's amazing how that takes the stress off. If you learn to teach, not only does it take the stress off because you could teach others. And I'm talking about a a a, like, when you're dealing with something.
JB Glossinger [00:12:00]:
And for those pilots out there, if you're a pilot, this is great too. If you're ever in a situation, right, you're in a situation where you're, you know, you're struggling, like, you gotta get the checklist out, the engine quit, something bad happened. Teach it. Look over at somebody else. This is what we're doing. Talk it out. I'm telling you, it's such a great way to do things. Okay? But that's active learning.
JB Glossinger [00:12:20]:
You take notes and summarize because you're gonna teach others. I wish I could tell you how important that is. Again, that's worth the price of entry in morning coach. If you start doing this in your life, it will change your life. K? You wanna apply what you learn. Knowledge without application is wasted, so you gotta implement new insights. We're gonna get into that tomorrow as we talk about when you quit things, but also when do you move through things. Right? So we wanna apply it.
JB Glossinger [00:12:44]:
We wanna seek mentors and coaches, learning from experienced people I just told you that accelerates growth, and it really can help you with their insights, avoid mistakes, and refine your thinking. You know, I have a coach here for what we're doing. I you know, Stu is helping us now. I have a coach for my running. I have coaches in, for physical just overall health. I have coaches in so many areas in my life, and I'm so blessed by that. But it's important. You wanna seek those out.
JB Glossinger [00:13:10]:
You wanna ask questions, great questions. Curiosity is the key. Right? Why and how? What does this work? I used to drive people nuts because I'm always learning. One of the things I do with people because I'm very introverted and I don't like to be around people is I change the concept of people to learning about them. What is their business? What do they do? What what makes them unique? Right? And then you wanna engage in deep thinking. Spend time reflecting, journaling, meditating, discussing ideas with others. This is why masterminds, our community, is so important. Engage in-depth.
JB Glossinger [00:13:44]:
Right? If you go out in typical in the world today, it's exhausting. Most people aren't talking in-depth. Right? They're just stuck in the news. They're stuck in all the stuff that's happening. They're not talking about deeper topics. You wanna get with this morning coach group because I'm telling you, it can help you with depth. Okay? And then you wanna surround yourself with smart people. So you wanna get in a you know, your environment influences your learning.
JB Glossinger [00:14:07]:
Jim Rome taught us that that a long time ago, you're the average of the five people you spend time with. Right? So you wanna be around smart people. You wanna engage in mastermind groups, communities, discussions, those that challenge and inspire you. You wanna get around people that also are thinking. It creates that energy, that knowledge. Okay? We wanna experiment and adapt. This is a big part of life is actually going out there. Experience teaches more than theory.
JB Glossinger [00:14:32]:
Try new things, test ideas, refine your approach, continually learn. And master your energy and focus. This is what's what's really critical. We wanna keep a sharp mind and you wanna you have to have a, you know, a well maintained body with exercise, nutrition, and good sleep, improve cognitive function. It will help you deal with knowledge. And then we wanna stay consistent. Learning is a lifelong process. You know, you wanna build a daily habit of consuming and applying knowledge.
JB Glossinger [00:14:57]:
It's one of the reasons I created morning coach. It's the way you can stay consistent pretty easily, and we just keep working. You know? Just keep going. You're on the right track. The key is integrating what you learn into the things you do, into what you have, and let's focus on acquiring knowledge. So again, just a quick rundown. Read. Okay? Engage in active learning.
JB Glossinger [00:15:19]:
Learn to teach. Very important. Apply what you learn. Seek mentors and coaches. Ask great questions. Engage in that deep thinking. Surround yourself with smart people. They're right here at morning coach.
JB Glossinger [00:15:31]:
All I gotta do is jump in the community and start talking. Experiment and adapt. Master your energy and focus. Stay consistent. Very important. And believe. And all of a sudden, you have that knowledge, and knowledge is power. Whether it's building wealth, whether it's finding energy, whether it's just being happy, it's so critical.
JB Glossinger [00:15:50]:
Okay? So lots of love to you. Let's get out there. Have a great day, and let's focus on our knowledge this week. Okay? And make sure you get up in the morning coach.
