The Alive Foundation Inc., doing business as MorningCoach® ("we," "our," "us"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit our websites, use our applications — including the MorningCoach® Companion dashboard — or participate in our programs.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information depending on how you interact with MorningCoach®:

2.1 Account & Billing Information

• Personal details (name, email address, phone number, billing address)
• Payment information processed through Stripe — we do not store your full credit card number
• Account login credentials (email and encrypted password)

2.2 Companion Dashboard Data

If you use the MorningCoach® Companion dashboard (my.morningcoach.com), we collect and store the content you create within the application, including:

• Mission, vision, and values statements
• Goals, projects, and tasks
• Weekly plans and daily focus entries
• Monthly reviews
• Dream board content and uploaded images
• Belt progression data
• Bug reports and feedback you submit through the application

2.3 File Uploads

The Companion dashboard allows you to upload images for your dream board and profile. Accepted file types are .jpg, .png, and .webp, with a maximum file size of 5 MB per upload.

2.4 Usage & Technical Data

• IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system
• Pages visited, session duration, and interaction patterns
• Referral source and attribution data (how you found MorningCoach®)

2.5 Communications

• Messages and correspondence with our support team
• Community interactions within our Circle membership platform

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services, including the Companion dashboard
• Process payments and fulfill subscription orders
• Generate AI-assisted content within the Companion dashboard (see Section 4 below)
• Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, data archive notices)
• Communicate updates, offers, and content relevant to your membership
• Track attribution to understand how members discover MorningCoach®
• Ensure platform security, enforce rate limits, and prevent fraud
• Comply with legal obligations

4. AI-Assisted Features

The MorningCoach® Companion dashboard includes AI-assisted features — such as Daily Focus generation and AI assist buttons — powered by Anthropic's Claude language model. When you use these features:

• The content you enter (such as goals, tasks, or focus prompts) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response
• Anthropic processes this data solely to provide the AI response and does not use it to train their models
• AI-generated content is clearly labeled within the dashboard
• You may choose not to use AI-assisted features — they are optional and do not affect your access to other Companion functionality

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate MorningCoach®:

• Stripe — Payment processing
• Circle — Community platform and membership management
• Vercel — Application hosting
• Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting
• Upstash — Redis caching and rate limiting
• Resend — Transactional email delivery
• Anthropic — AI-assisted features (see Section 4)
• Amazon Web Services — File storage
• Google Analytics — Website analytics

We may also share data with legal authorities when required by law, or with successors in the event of a business sale or transfer.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and employ the following measures:

• All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Authentication is managed through secure JSON Web Tokens (JWT) with expiration controls
• API endpoints are protected by rate limiting to prevent abuse
• Database credentials are rotated regularly
• Access to member data is restricted to authorized team members on a need-to-know basis

While we use industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your information to the best of our ability.

7. Your Rights — Access, Export & Deletion

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: You may request a summary of the personal information we hold about you
• Export: Companion dashboard users can export their data directly from within the application
• Correction: You may request corrections to inaccurate personal information
• Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data by emailing info@morningcoach.com or using the delete function within the Companion dashboard

We will respond to all data requests within 30 days.

8. Data Retention & Cancellation Policy

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide our services.

If you cancel your Companion subscription:

• Your Companion data (goals, projects, tasks, plans, reviews, dream board, and belt progress) will be archived for 90 days from the date of cancellation
• You will receive a reminder email at day 83 notifying you that your data will be permanently deleted in 7 days
• After 90 days, archived data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
• If you resubscribe within the 90-day archive window, your data will be fully restored

Account-level data (name, email, billing history) is retained separately in accordance with legal and financial record-keeping requirements.

9. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve user experience and analyze site performance. These include:

• Essential cookies required for authentication and site functionality
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site
• Attribution tracking to identify how members discover MorningCoach®

You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.

10. Third-Party Links

Our websites and applications may contain links to external sites, including Amazon, Circle, and other platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.

11. Children's Privacy

MorningCoach® is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to active members via email.
